Ordering and payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay. You can also spread the cost with Klarna at checkout.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. Klarna is available at checkout and lets you spread the cost or pay later, subject to their approval and terms.

Is my payment secure?

Yes. Payments are handled by Shopify Payments and Klarna. We never see or store your card details.

Can I amend or cancel my order?

Contact us as quickly as you can at info@thepadelplace.co.uk with your order number. If the order has not been picked or dispatched we can usually amend or cancel it. Once it is with the courier it has to be handled as a return.

Returns and refunds

What is your returns policy?

You have 30 days from receiving your item to request a return. The item needs to be unworn or unused, in its original packaging, with tags still attached, and you will need your receipt or proof of purchase. To start a return, email info@thepadelplace.co.uk.

I am in the EU, is it different?

Yes. If your order was shipped into the European Union you have the right to cancel or return within 14 days for any reason, without giving a justification. The item still needs to be in its original condition.

How long does a refund take?

Once we have received and inspected your return we will let you know whether it has been approved. If it is, you will be refunded to your original payment method within 10 business days. Your bank or card provider can take a little longer to post it.

Can I exchange an item?

The quickest way is to return the item you have and place a separate order for the one you want, so you are not waiting on the return to clear first.

Can I return a racket I have used?

No. Rackets have to come back unused and in their original packaging. This is exactly why it is worth coming into the shop first, where you can pick one up and feel the weight and balance before you buy.

Choosing a racket

I am new to padel, which racket should I buy?

Start with a round shaped racket with a low balance. It has the biggest sweet spot, it is the most forgiving on mishits and it is the kindest on your elbow. Diamond shaped rackets are the ones the professionals use and they punish anything hit off centre.

Use our Racket Finder and it will narrow it down in about a minute, or read How to choose your first padel racket.

What is the difference between round, teardrop and diamond?

Round gives the most control and the largest sweet spot, and sits lowest in balance. Diamond gives the most power, sits highest in balance and demands the cleanest technique. Teardrop is the middle ground and suits most intermediate players.

Browse by shape: Round, Teardrop, Diamond.

What weight should I look for?

Most padel rackets sit between 355 and 375 grams. Lighter is easier to swing and quicker at the net. Heavier gives more power and stability but is harder work over three sets.

Can I try a racket before I buy it?

Yes, and this is the main reason to come to us rather than order online. Come into the shop at Unit 14 Hanson Road and you can hold the rackets, feel the difference in weight and balance, and talk it through with someone who plays.

Do you sell padel shoes?

Not at the moment. Padel footwear matters, the herringbone sole is built for the sliding and quick direction changes the sport demands, but we would rather not stock something than stock it badly. Ask us in the shop and we will point you in the right direction.

Products and the shop

Which brands do you stock?

NOX, HEAD, Adidas, Siux, Royal Padel, Hirostar, Raquex, Bas3line, Zylo and Pallap for rackets and equipment. Flux Active, Lola Starr, AP Club, Kuuki and Frequency for clothing. Applied Nutrition for supplements.

An item is out of stock, will it come back?

Usually yes. Email info@thepadelplace.co.uk and tell us what you are after and we will let you know when it lands.

Do you price match?

Yes. We price match across the UK. If you have found the same item cheaper elsewhere, send us the link and we will look at it.

Where are you?

Unit 14, Hanson Road, Liverpool, L9 7BP. Come in and hit a few balls with a racket before you decide, which is the part you cannot do online.

How do I get in touch?

Email info@thepadelplace.co.uk or call +44 7940 764202. We are happy to talk through what you need, whether you are buying your first racket or replacing one you have outgrown.
